Dado Topic, who together with Dragonfly will be representing Croatia in this year's Eurovision Song Contest has spoken to esctoday.com

Dado Topic, composer, lyrics-writer, arranger, guitar and bas guitar player, is one of the most popular rock singers in Croatia and ex – Yugoslavia. When an artist that strove to stay away from commercialised music decides to try out for the Eurovision Song Contest, it is only natural for us to want to find out why.

In the middle of the final preparations before he heads for Helsinki to sing Vjerujem u ljubavtogether with Dragonfly, Dado kindly took the time to answer our questions. In his interview he tells us what his idea of heaven is, what is that made him try for the Eurovision Song Contest, which song he thinks is a winner and what he thinks about the lyrics of Valentine lost.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
