Heikki Paasonen and Ellen Jokikunnas will be the YLEs commentators for the Finnish TV audience in the Eurovision song contest 2007. They will also do six daily Haloo Helsinki TV shows that will follow everything that is going on in Helsinki and the Eurovision song contest 2007. They're filming some material on preparations already next week.

I realized this is such a unique event I cannot let my foolish pride to keep me away from it” says Heikki Paasonen, who was the favourite to host the Eurovision song contest 2007 with his historic partner Jaana Pelkonen. YLE chose however Mikko Leppilampi to do the job with her, and caused quite a media fuss. Now all is set and everyone is happy again. Heikki already presented the two preview shows on YLE2 and will now comment the semi final and the final for the third time, now with the new comer in the Eurovision universe Ellen Jokikunnas. Asko Murtomäki will be there once again to give some real Eurovision trivia and knowledge to the packet.

Ellen has been working already with Heikki in the first two seasons of Idols, and just finished the third season she presented with Jani Toivola (who will start with The Eurovision Countdown show on YLE2 next Sunday). “I think I am rather experienced now with the singing competitions” she jokes. “I’m off to a short holiday now with the Eurovision book and other stuff including a dvd with all the songs. By May I will know everything I need to know!” she promises.

Interesting fact is that Heikki and Ellen are very good friends but so are Ellen and Hanna. They befriended during the first Finnish Idols that Hanna won and have become very close friends after that. “If I wasn’t chosen for this I would be in Hartwall Areena anyways to cheer for Hanna!”

It is now also revealed that Laura Voutilainen will have the honour of giving the Finnish votes live from Senate square on the final.
