As the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest approaches ever closer the Swedish representative Sanna Nielsen has taken on a journey around Copenhagen and declared that she can even lay claim to being of Danish heritage.

Sanna Nielsen took a few hours off from rehearsals a few days ago to take a tour around the Danish capital of Copenhagen. She visited some of the famous landmarks such as Amalienborg Palace, The Little Mermaid and Nyhavn.

Sanna also declared that her heart lies in Denmark as she can lay claim to having Danish heritage running through her family tree. She is quoted as saying “My grandfather was Danish and it is from him I got my last name. So I’m at least a quarter Danish “.
Nielsen’s Danish sounding name has caused confusion previously over the years. She is presented in the official programme as Sanne Nielsen adopting the Danish affectation for the name. She goes on to say “It has happened quite a few times but not only in Denmark. I have called both Sanne and Sanny and more”.
