DR, the Danish national broadcaster of the Eurovision Song Contest, has announced that a special appearance will be made at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest – by the Royal family!

The Danish Royal couple, Frederik, Crown Prince of Denmark and Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark, will attend the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest on the 10 May as confirmed via the official kongehuset.dk website.

This won’t be the Royal’s only appearance at this year’s contest – Crown Princess Mary will also attend the family show of the second semi-final which will take place a few hours before the official show. Although not confirmed, it has been suggested that one or more of the couple’s children will also attend the family show. It has been rumoured that the Crown Princess Mary‘s appearance at the second semi-final is due to the “Australian flavour” included in the show.

Last month, it was unveiled that Australian singer Jessica Mauboy would perform in the second semi-final at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest.
