As usual the five Nordic countries will make joint preview shows and it is once again Eirikur Hauksson as the Icelandic expert. This means that he will have to judge his own song and award it with points from 1 to 5. There will be 4 shows in total produced by SVT in collaboration with NRK, DR, RUV and YLE.
When Eirikur Hauksson won the Icelandic final it was assumed that it meant a change for Iceland in this Nordic panel, but as the names of experts have now been announced it is clear that it remains Eirikur’s job to judge all the songs for the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest – including his own Valentine lost.
There are two changes to the list of experts. Per Sundnes will represent Norway after NRK fired their legendary Jostein Pedersen who was famous for his comments and the fact that he was quite often the one disliking a song the most. In many ways he was rightfully compared with BBC’s Terry Wogan. The second change is Denmark where it will be Adam Duvå Hall, host of the Danish final 2006 and 2007.
From Sweden it is once again Charlotte Perrelli, also known as Charlotte Nilsson who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1999 with Take me to your heaven and Thomas Lundin will as usual represent Finland.
Christer Björkman who represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1992 hosts the shows which will be produced by SVT in collaboration with NRK, DR, RUV and YLE. All the preview videos will be presented for the viewers in four shows and the experts will comment on all songs and award each of them with points from 1 to 5. All 4 shows will be broadcasted in all five Nordic countries, but as usual it is up to each broadcaster to decide their own timetables. So far only SVT and DR have announced their timetables, but esctoday.com will update as soon as there is news from Iceland, Finland and Norway.
