The Spanish representative in the upcoming 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, made a special performance in the Spanish talent show Tu cara me suena.

On 13 March Ruth Lorenzo was a guest participant in the Spanish television talent show Tu cara me suena, in which famous singers and actors compete to make the best impression of other renowned singers.

The Spanish entrant in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest was made up and dressed to look like Whitney Houston and sing the hit I have nothing. Her performance earned her a wave of applause and pulled the members of the show’s jury onto their table.

The performance of Ruth in Tu cara me suena would be just an anecdote if it wasn’t for the fact that Mónica Naranjo is in the jury of the show. The singer hit the headlines a few days ago due to her comments on Ruth Lorenzo’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest and on the Contest itself. Mónica Naranjo had been part of the jury that helped choose the Spanish entry for Denmark.

Mónica and Ruth were face to face once again. The host of Tu cara me suena, Manel Fuentes, in a very casual tone, asked Mónica to elaborate on why she had not had a preference for Ruth Lorenzo. Mónica insisted on her statement that Dancing in the rain is not good enough for her singer. Have you seen what she just did?, she added.

Nevertheless, the jury praised Ruth’s capabilities as a singer and wished her the best of success and a long-lasting music career.

Ruth Lorenzo will represent Spain in the Grand Final of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Dancing in the rain.
