Today, the interim Greek channel DT (HPRT) and MAD TV have announced the names of the entries which will take part in the Greek national final Eurosong 2014 – a MAD Show.

The names of the 4 competing candidates were revealed last month and will take part in the Greek national final Eurosong 2014 – a MAD Show on the 11 March. You can read more about the national final here.

The candidates

  • Mark Angelo feat. JosephineDancing night
  • KrystalliaPetalouda stin Athina (Butterfly in Athens)
  • Costas MartakisKanenas de me stamata (No one can stop me)

Tomorrow, the 4 participating entries will be presented as part of the DT news broadcast. Immediately after the broadcast, the songs will be available via the MAD TV YouTube channel.

Greece debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with the entry Krasi, thalassa kai t’ agori moi performed by Marinella. Marinella ended in 11th place with a total of 7 points. Greece’s best results was in 2005 when Helena Paparizou was selected to represent Greece with the song My number one. Helena won the contest with a total of 230 points, bringing Greece their first and only victory to date.

Last year, Koza Mostra and Agathonas Iakovidis won the Greek national final with the song Alcohol is free, earning the right to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö. Qualifying to the grand final in 2nd place, they eventually ended in 6th place with a total of 152 points.
