Germany started its selection for the Eurovision Song Contest tonight with the Clubkonzert. Seven participants for the final were already internally selected, but the eighth finalist was chosen in a live show of wildcard participants. Only one made it through to the final on 13 March.
Elaiza managed to win the wildcard show with her song Is It Right?. This means she defeated not only nine other artists that performed in the show, but also 2240 singers who auditioned to represent Germany in Eurovision via a selection on YouTube. For Valentina, Caroline Rose, Bartosz, Ambre Vallot, Max Krumm, Nicole Milik, Cassie Greene, Melanie Schlüter and Simon Glöde the dream to represent their country in the Eurovision Song Contest in Denmark is over.

Elaiza will perform again on 13 March when the final of Unser Song Für Dänemark takes place. In the final she will compete with The Baseballs, Oceana, Unheilig, Madeline Juno, Santiano, MarieMarie and Das Gezeichnete Ich. Every participant will need two songs in order to take part. All eight artists will sing one song and then the first four who get the most votes will perform their second song. Out of these eight songs (two songs each by four artists), only two will be chosen for the third round and then we will know who will represent Germany in Copenhagen.
Germany is the longest-running participant of the Eurovision Song Contest. The country has won twice: 1982 and 2010.
