Rafael Artesero and Jose Juan Santana Rodriguez the composers of 'La reina de la noche' have recorded a fresh new demo version of their song to suit a male singer. Rafael Artesero has recorded the chorus and vocals for the male version himself, he was more than happy to share with us the details of his entry.
La reina de la noche is one of the 5 candidate entries who will be competing in the grand final of Mision Eurovision on the 24th of February. One of these 5 entries will represent Spain in the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki.
Rafael Artesero is no new face on the Eurovision Song Contest scene as he is the man behind the Andorran entries at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 and 2006.This time he has composed an entry with OGAE Spain president Jose Juan Santana Rodriguez. Rafael and Jose were both more than happy to speak to esctoday.com about the new version of their song. They both expressed their happiness and gratitude to everyone for their support.
Rafael told us thatthe songLa reina de la noche was initially made for a girl to sing it but had to be readjusted for a male singer taking into account that a mancould opt to sing it too. Hence we have the song nowin both the male andfemale versions. He went on to mention that the song changes when it is adapted for a male singer as its very different when you make a song for a man that was initially made for a girl. Rafael has made this new male demo version taking into account that the song could be sung by a group of boys.
He told us that he himself recorded all the vocals and voices on the demo as he had taken into account the participation of NASH, as they were one of the hot favourites to qualify for the final of Mision Eurovision. Hence he readjusted the song with 6 voices which he recorded himself, he also specified that the song would sound different if all the 6 vocals were sung by 6 different singers.
Rafael also wanted to remind everyone specifically that this new male version is onlya demo and that Mision Eurovision will reproduce the song for each of the 5 candidates to suit their voices and styles.
It took Rafael nearly2 days tomake the new male version ofLa reina de la noche . He himself recorded the chorus, the vocals and the playback and had to upgrade the tone of the song, one and half tone higher than the original one. He made 3 new versions of the entry to see which would suit better a male singer.
