DR now finally confirms the selection of the two Danish wildcards. The possibility that both wildcards might come from the second qualification heat- which seems to be the strongest of the two- is left open.

There have been a lot of rumours and speculation about how the 8 songs not qualified would compete in order to win one of the two remaining wildcards for the Danish final and this morning our partnersite esconnet.dkreceived confirmation that as previously assumed they won't be divided by qualification heats.

The 8 songs will be divided into two groups bytheir potential appeal to certain age groups; in this case meaning “young” or “mature” audiences. The two radio stations P3 and P4 will each havetheir group of 4 songs and in the period from the 5th to the 8th of February they will each dedicate one day per song. The listeners will then have to vote again by telephone or sms.

P3 is more focused on the younger audiences, meaning that the song It ain’t for the money by Camille feat. DJ Mary from the first qualification heat seemsa likely candidate to be in the P3 group. P4 is for the more mature audiences and the songs matching this will be in this group. This means that none of the songs from the first heat is guaranteed a wildcard. They might both go toentries from the second heat which features well known names such as Aud Wilken who represented Denmark in 1995 with the song Fra Mols til Skagen and Jørgen Olsen, who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2000 with Fly on the wings of love.

When the second qualification heat finishes on Friday DR willplace the 8 remaining songs into the two groups.
