The third contestant in the German national final, which will be held on 8th March, is going to be announced tomorrow, Tuesday, during a special press conference at 10:00 CET. The name will be revealed on the official website www.eurovision.de at 10:30 CET. Although nothing about the act has been confirmed yet, the rumours that Joy Fleming (Germany 1975), Peter Maffay or Andrea Berg would be number three have been denied categorically.
Regarding the fact that an own press conference is held for the third participant makes it likely that it is going to bea well known and experienced singer or group. Another rumour is that the winner of Stefan Raab's, who represented Germany three times as a composer and lyricist andonce as a singer, Bundesvision Song Contest will be the thirdcontestant. This competition was launched in 2005 and features the 16 German federal states competing against each other in a Eurovision Song Contest style contest. Itwill be held for the third time on 9th February. Nevertheless, this choice is not very likely since some of thesongs were already published before the EBU deadlineof 1st October.
Three acts are going to compete in the selection to be held on 8th March in Hamburg, hosted by Thomas Hermanns: Monrose and Roger Cicero (who will sing Frauen regieren die Welt – Women rule the world) are already confirmed as participants.
Germany finished shared 14th in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest final with Texas Lightning and No no never. Nevertheless, they are directly qualified for the final in Helsinki as part of the big 4.
