escmalta.com revealed today that Stefanie Spiteri will be the female host for the 2007 Maltese national final, Malta Song for Europe. A male host is yet to be announced. Unconfirmed sources stated that J. Anvil, who took part in the competition twice, will do the job. Nevertheless, we still have to wait for the official announcement. The venue of the selection has also been confirmed: the shows will take place at Ta' Qali in the new conference centre.

As previously announced, a total of 228 entrieshad beensubmitted for the Maltasong for Europe Festival 2007, which were be cut down to 50 by a panel of judges.For the second phase, the songswere performed livein front ofa panel of foreign judges. 14 songswere chosen for the semi final on 1st February, two further entries were chosen through Opportunity 2.Six out of them will qualify for the final round on 3rd February.

In 2006, Fabrizio Faniello represented Malta with the song I do. In Athens, he finished with only one point in the final round, which means that Malta will have to enter the semi final in Helsinki.
