Russian broadcaster, RTR, and Channel One have reached a joint agreement that the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast by C1R and not by RTR as had been previously decided. Such an unexampled decision was caused by the great wish of RTR to broadcast Eurovision Dance Contest 2007.
The deal between Russia's two media giants means that Channel One will broadcast the Eurovision Song Contest live from Helsinki in May whilst RTR will broadcast a brand new Eurovision Dance Contest later in the year. The competition is scheduled for September 2007. RTR will also broadcast Junior Eurovision Song Contest in December 2007.
After Russia's 2nd place in Athens, they are automatically qualified for the Eurovision Song Contest final in Helsinki on Saturday 12th May.
