With the deadline for the submission of the songs for Dora 2007 being this Monday, January 8, esctoday.com and our partner site eurovision-croatia.com, have put together a list of names that we believe will be taking their places in Dora 07. We have also clarified some of the rumoured names that we can be sure will not be participating. HRT to decide which of the submitted songs are suitable for Dora we will have definitely have to wait for the official confirmation from them.

Danijela Martinovic who has represented Croatia twice (in 1995 with Magazin and in 1998 solo) is reportedly negative to the idea of taking part again this time, the same goes for Karma and Colonia.

Minea (Dora 2006 semi finalist) and Ivana Banfic(Dora 2006 semi finalist), Jelena Rozga (Dora 2006) are almost certain to be in the 2007 Dora line-up. They are set to be joined by Claudia Beni (Croatia 2003), her brother -Danjel Beni, Angels, Josip Katalenić, Jacques Houdek (Dora 2005 and 2006).

Rumours also suggest that Vanna ( Croatia 2001) and Luka Nizetic to have applied as well and are set to compete in the show. Neither have issued denials and they both seem set to be included.

Feminnemare set to cause the biggest stir. The 2005 Bosnia Herzegovina girls have decided to leave the party cakes at home and enter the Croatian selection process. Should they win, they would become the first performers to represent two separate former Yugoslav states at the Eurovision Song Contest. The group were formed by the Croatian Pop Idol show and member, Neda is Croatian. The two other band members are from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and are almost certain to be singing their colleague towards a taste of representing her home country in 2007.

Magazin (Croatia 1995) are still deciding whether they want to compete but are certainly an option.
None of the above information has been officially confirmed so far, so it should be treated with caution.
Stay tuned for more news as they come in.

A special thanks to Denis Milovic for his contribution in the article.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
