The Eurovision committee of the Israeli broadcaster IBA is expected to gather this Sunday to select the artist to represent the country in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest.

The committee is being headed by Yoav Ginai, who is also considered to be the leading candidate to be IBA's new head of delegation to Eurovision. The previous one, Yitzhak Sonneshein, who was also head of entertainment at IBA, announced his retirement from IBA this week, after 40 years. Yoav Ginai is tipped to replace him at that post, including heading the delegation to Helsinki.

Yoav Ginai is no stranger to the Eurovision Song Contest. In 1998 he wrote the lyrics to the Eurovision winning song Diva and also wrote the lyrics to the 2002 entry Light a candle. Ginai was the one to give the results of the Israeli televote in the EurovisionSong Contests, between the years 1999-2001.
