Sheila Rodríguez is aged 31 and was born in Barcelona. She started her professional musical career four years ago in the trio Aguamarina, which became a duet later on. Aguamarina usually perform on Saturdays at the Los Almendros de Cunit restaurant (Tarragona). From the age of 15, Sheila took music theory and piano classes. For three years, she sang soprano at the Choir Mare de Déu del Turó, in Montcada i Reixac. Sheila has also collaborated with many artists and apeared on television. She is married, has a 1-year-old daughter and works at the Notarial Association of Catalonia.

Sheila handed over the required materials to Misión Eurovisión last December 20th. The following day, she was confirmed as one of the candidates to represent Spain in Helsinki on May.

AMAIA SAIZAR

Amaia is not an unknown face to Eurofans. She was the vocalist for the group Trigo Limpio, but she left it just before the band competed at Eurovision 1980 in The Hague (Netherlands). In 1977, still being part of Trigo Limpio, reached the 3rd place at the OTI Song Contest.

A quite premonitory result for her. In 1984, Amaia performed the song Lady, Lady, now within the group Bravo. They succeeded and were placed 3rd that year in Luxembourg.

The Basque singer continued trying to represent Spain again at the end of the ages 80, but she didn't reach her aim. Could it be now?

FRAN PAHÍNO

Fran is a boy from Valladolid that has gone round the North of Spain performing over 200 concerts at parties, discos and pubs. Moreover, as member of the band Colores, has made over 70 performances a year for seven years.

He was also member of the band Tasmania, based in Burgos, for a year; and was selected to participate at the programme Puerta a la Fama, aired by Telemadrid.

Nowadays, he feels really excited about the possibility of representing Spain this year. For the moment, his debut CD is about to be released. Fran Pahíno is his own producer and composer.

MONTSE MALLORQUÍN

This Canarian artist started singing and playing her region's typical instruments when she was very young. At a short age, she started taking dance and jazz classes, and became a teacher when she was only 16 years old.

Then, Montse starts her raid into the singing world: Firstly, taking lessons and teaching afterwards. She has participated in several record productions and has composed a big variety of themes with different styles.

Her latest album, Mi Esencia, contents pop and latin songs. Musicians from all around the world have collaborated in it and Montse Mallorquín has received the best criticisms from the Canarian media.

MIGUEL CAÑADAS

Born in Crevillente (Alicante), Miguel Cañadas has always had clear his musical vocation. At the age of 7, he sang at his school's choir, but he didn't start developing his professional career until he was 15 years old, when he was given a guitar he learnt to play autodidactly.

Miguel started composing his own songs and two years later he started performing his first concerts.

Miguel's first great opportunity arrived in 2000, when he joined the record company NewRecords, participating at musical events with Roser or Raúl.

2002 was a bad year. NewRecords went bankrupt and Miguel, composer of over 120 songs, had to look for another company to join. It was Ibersonic, in the end, in 2004. Mi loco corazón is the name of his first album, that gained support from Los 40 Principales, local and regional TV broadcasters and even some national media.

In 2006, after moving to Madrid, Miguel Cañadas starts working with Carlos Quintero and Mar de Pablos, from Orixe Ediciones Musicales. They offered Miguel to compose themes for other singers and Miguel started recording his second studio album. Miguel had the opportunity to promote it in Puerto Rico, where he performed with the Colombian singer Enigma.

Now, Miguel Cañadas faces another important challenge: to take part in Misión Eurovisión. Miguel will appear in the first Gala, next January 9th, singing the song A puro dolor (Son by Four).

MARÍA LÓPEZ

María López will perform in the first Gala, as well. She is a great singer with a promising future. María is now rehearsing the musical play We will rock you, to be represented at the Calderón Theatre in Madrid.

María has collaborated with well-known producers and artists: Juan Carlos Calderón (producer of La Fiesta Terminó, sung by Paloma San Basilio at ESC 1985), Luis Miguel, Rocío Jurado, Pimpinela or Alejandro Sanz.

Television is not an unexplored world for María López: she participated in Karaoke (Telecinco), Puerta a la Fama (Telemadrid) or Gente de Primera (TVE). She also presented the show Las chicas y los chicos del Canal 7.

After several attempts to establish herself into the musical world, María is now preparing a record as a soloist, that will include songs both in English and in Spanish.
