Greece's Number One singer Helena Paparizou with the song Mambo is the winner of the 21st OGAE (Organisation Générale des Amateurs d'Eurovision) Song Contest which was organised by last year winner , OGAE Italy. Second place for France and third for Israel. This is the second victory for OGAE Greece.

When Helena Paparizou performed Mambo in the Eurovision Song Contest in Athens Terry Wogan quoted: ''She is just showing she could win it again this year if she'd wanted to'' and maybe that' s what the members of OGAE Greece had in mind when they had to choose a song to represent Greece at the 21st OGAE Song Contest organised by OGAE Italy. The Italian club hosted the event in 2006 as last year they won with Alexia and the song Da grande. Italy seems to bring luck to the Greeks. Once again the second victory at this contest for Greece comes when the Italian OGAE Club host the event. The first victory for Greece came in 1994with Sabrina and her song Ftes.

30 OGAE clubs applied to participate this year, nevertheless Andorra and United Kingdom were disqualified. For a total of 28 entries Greece won with 244 points beating France which ended second, 206 points, represented with Najoua Belyzel and the song Gabriel. Third place for Israel, 184 points with the song Le'an Shelo Telhi by Shiri Maimon.
