The Duo Datz aka Orna and Moshe Datz, announced today they are to split up after 21 years of marriage. The pair were in the 1991 contest and finished 3rd behind Carola (Sweden) and Amina (France) with 139 points. The Celebrity couple are set to still work toghether after there divorce. The news hit the Israeli media today.

Aftertwelve years of marriage, ten albums, five videos for children selling more than 650,000 copies, beingthree times part of the Eurovision show (1991 Participants, 1995 and 1999 producers), and hosts of the Kdam 2001, the duo as a marriage comes to a end.

The couple won the Kdam festival in Israel in 1991 with Kan and surprised the bookies with a real challenge at one of the closest Eurovision Song Contests in history. With only one jury remaining, they needed only an 8,10 or 12 points to beat Sweden's Carola having led the competition for much of the evening. The final douze points of course went to France, causing confusion everywhere as French tied for first place with Sweden. All eyes turned to Frank Neff, who explained through the shouting and cheering that France had been beaten because Sweden had scored more high marks on a count-back.

Many has speculated a split after the two took on seperate projects, such as Orna hosting mahapach (makeover) and the mirortelevision shows and Moshe producing several new succesful Israeli singers (Including Yosi Azulayand Sarit Hadat – Also Eurovision 2002 participant for Israel). The pair made a public statement just weeks ago stating that they had overcome their problems, but it now seems that the statement was part of a failed bid to save the marriage.

Even though the two are splitting they will still work together. The Duo finished 3rd with Kan in Rome 1991.
