NordicBets have published the first odds for the Danish national selection for the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest. These odds have been set based on information about the singers and the competition, the company has not yet heard the entries.
Marketing Manager for NordicBet Denmark, Niels Carstens say in a press release:

Aud Wilken, who came 5th in the Eurovision Song Contest 1995 is by many fans seen as a big favourite to win next years Danish final, however the bookmakers don’t believe she has a great chance of representing Denmark for a second time with the song Husker Du. It is written by Lise Cabble and Mette Mathiesen who also wrote her 1995 song Fra Mols Til Skagen as well as the big fan favourite Uden Dig from the Danish final 2000 which lost to eventual Eurovision Song Contest winner, Fly on the wings of love.
The well-known names all are listed at the top, however another big favourite, the internationally known band Me & My is currently in 6th position giving the money back ten times in case of a victory in Denmark. Jørgen Olsen who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2000 with Fly On The Wings Of Love, is in third position, and very close to Jacob Andersen and Danni Elmo who has a tie as NordicBet’s favourites. Danni Elmo came second in the 2006 Danish final with his own song, 2 In 1.
Jacob Andersen who will take part in the Danish selection for the first time will most likely be singing pop/rock, and the fact that Lordi’s Eurovision Song Contest victory might mean the Contest is now more open to rock has most likely had an influence on the bookmakers when these odds were made up.
All the unknown names are at the bottom, only Annette Heick in 12th position will be recognised. She took part in the Danish final in 1991 and as the daughter of the Danish Mr. Eurovision, Keld Heick she is not exactly unfamiliar with the contest. Having recently been awarded as most annoying TV-host might not have increased her chances though.
These odds are likely to change the further we get to the semi-finals as more details about their songs and possible performance will be published. Stay tuned as updates will follow.
