OGAE Austria held their fan event on 19 October at the Gugg bar in Vienna. The star of the event was none other than 1973 winner Anne Marie David who performed her Eurovision classics Je suis l’enfant soleil, and her winning entry for Luxembourg Tu te reconnaitras. Mave O’Rick also took to the stage, performing Du bist da alongside Anne Marie David, with who he collaborated in 2011 to re-release a new version of her 1973 entry.

Conchita Wurst, the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest representative for Austria, also made a surprise appearance, providing fans with a glimpse as to how she will choose her entry for Copenhagen.

The event was also a showcase of OGAE Austria talent, where twelve members of the club competed against each other in performing past Eurovision entries. Joe Stain’s performance of Alexander Rybak’s Fairytale, placed first as voted by the audience and special jury, including Anne Marie David, Conchita Wurst, German OGAE President Klaus Woryna, and German pop artist Mave O’Rick.
