The nominations for Sweden's Grammis have been announced and there's a big surprise… This year's Swedish representative in Eurovision Song Contest in Athens, Carola, is not nominated! Especially considering that Andreas Johnson, BWO, Linda Bengtzing and Magnus Carlsson, who all failed to stop Carola walking away with Melodifestivalen 2006, are all nominated.

The Grammis Awards are the Swedish version of the Grammy Awards. Held each year in February in Stockholm, these awards were established in 1969, cancelled in 1972 and returned in 1987.

The nominations for Sweden's Grammies 2007 have been announced and there's a big surpsise… Carola Häggkvist, one of Sweden's biggest stars and this year's Swedish representative in Eurovision Song Contest in Athens with ''Invincible'' is not nominated!

The surprise is bigger when we see amongst the nominees Sing For Me by Andreas Johnson (3rd placed song in Melodifestivalen 2006) and Temple Of Love (2nd placed song in Melodifestivalen 2006), both in the Best Song category. BWO (Bodies Without Organs), who performed Temple of Love are nominated in two more categories: for Best Pop Group and Best Album. The same group received a Grammis Award in 2006 for Sweden's most popular band of the year.

Andreas Johnson is nominated for another category: Best Male Artist. There's even a Best Schlager category and the nominee goes to…Linda Bengtzing! Magnus Carlsson is nominated at the same category for his Christmas album.

Carola need not worry though…There's a chance for her to claim a prize in the first annual esctoday.com awards! Will she be amongst the contenders? Find out next week on esctoday.com!
