Earlier, it had been reported that Bosnia & Herzegovina will internally select their 2007 Eurovision Song Contest entrant with the final decision being announced on 4th March. These news now turn out not to be true: the head of entertainment and music programme contacted esctoday.com to inform us that there has been no date set yet for the BH Eurosong show.

News circulated the internet on Saturday stating that Bosnia Herzegovina would select their 2007 Eurovision Song Contest entry internally and reveal the song on March 4th. The news was carried on all major internet sites, including esctoday.com and many of our partner sites. We have now receivedofficial news from Bosnia that this story was incorrect.

In an email from the Head of Entertainment and musicprogramming at the Public Broadcasting Service of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we have been officially informed that:"We can inform you that PBS BIH Eurovision team is recently established, and wehave not officially set the date of BH Eurosong Show for 4th March 2007, and we are not going to make our final decision about selection procedure for songs and performers. It was also specifically pointed out that only information received directly from PBS BIH can be called reliable.

According to this information, a national final might still be possible. In 2007, Bosnia and Herzegovina achieved their best result in the contest so far: Hari Mata Harifinished 3rd in Athens after a 2nd place in the semi final with the song Lejla. Therefore, the country will be directly qualified for the Eurovision Song Contest final round in Helsinki.
