DR, the Danish national broadcaster, will be covering the organisation and creation of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen through a documentary which aimed to show the whole country how is Denmark dealing with the biggest TV show ever organised in the country.
The documentary
Lisbet Barrett, with two other journalists from DR documentaries department, has already started working on the project. She believes it is very exciting to show how the contest grew from a blank page to the huge celebration it will become. The project includes the broadcast of 2 or 3 episodes of half an hour around the same time than the 3 live shows and a longer episode to be aired after the Grand final so that the documentary would have covered all areas of the contest from Emmelie de Forest ’s victory to the legacy of Copenhagen 2014. She said that the trick will be to make something fresh and interesting although the excitement would be over.
Lisbet Barrett hopes to follow the Executive Producer of the contest, Pernille Gaardbo, or the show responsible for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, Jan Lundme, and possibly some fans or any relevant important people who make the show what it is. She wants to show raw emotions from happy smiles to tears which will be a real challenge for her team because of the big glitter tsunami the Eurovision Song Contest can be.
