Radoslav Markov, the Bulogarian Eurovision Song Contest journalist has exclusively told esctoday.com further details about the selection process that Bulgaria will use to select their 2007 song of the Eurovision Song Contest. The submission deadline will be 12th January 2007, three days later, 18 songs will be approved. On February 3rd, there wil be a semi-final from which 9 songs will be selected by the public.
The deadline for submissions in Bulgaria is set for12th January 2007. From there,18 songs will be selected internally over three days. The songs will be chosen on 15th January.There will be a national semi-final on3rd February for the 18 songs. Half will be selected via televoting to go forwards to the final.
Rules state that the song needs to be performed by a Bulgarian artist and that the singers should perform their song in each state of the contest with no right to comment on the other songs or the rules and regulations of the contest.
The nine successful songs will be joined in the final by threeadditional songs that will be specially commissioned by BNT. The 12 songs in the final will compete on 24th February at the National Palace of Culture in Sophia, with a 10 minute televoting/SMS voting window. Televoting alone will select the winning song that will go forwards to the Eurovision Song Contest.
