Emmelie de Forest has postponed her forthcoming tour of Germany and Denmark.
The singer was due to visit fourteen cities including Berlin, Dresden, Copenhagen and Horsens from this coming October but announced her decision to put off these performances on her facebook page. So far, no alternative dates have been presented.
Here is Emmelie de Forest’s statement in full:
It is with my deepest regret that I have postpone my tour in Germany and Denmark. I was really looking forward to getting out and perform for all of you! I had to make this decision, as I am a perfectionist and whatever I do, it has to be done 100%. With my very hectic schedule at the moment, it is impossible for me to do that. I hope for your understanding and look forward to performing for you as soon as possible Lots of LOVE from E (sic)
The reaction of her fans has been mixed. While some have been supportive of her decision and have even urged her to take a holiday from her hectic schedule, others have been quick to express their disappointment and even their anger. It is not acceptable, said one on Emmelie’s facebook page. No sympathy here. Another wrote, This is bad planning. I am very baffled and upset by this. If you plan so poorly again, I won’t be a fan anymore.
Others vented their frustration that they have already booked transport and accommodation to see the performer.
Meanwhile, it’s business as usual for this year’s Eurovision winner as she announced on her twitter page that she’s back in the studio working on new material.
