On Sunday 26th November, OGAE France held their annual autumn meeting in Paris. The lucky fans present had the opportunity to meet with Annick Thoumazeau who represented France in the 1984 Eurovision Song Contest with Autant d'amoureux que d'étoiles ( 8th place).

Annick aka Année Leed is still actively involved in the French music scene. She has co written Virulla, the children’s Rock Opera that was played at Disneyland Resort Paris last June as well as in other places in France. Also, Année is actively involved in the release of a single for the "Handicap International", the international organisation who (co)won the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize for their support to the needs of disabled people in countries affected by poverty and conflict.

The afternoon also included the very first Eurovision Quiz. It was won by Xavier, the other three finalists being Fabien, Patrick and Aitor.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
