This week saw Russia's 2004 Eurovision Song Contest participant, Julia Savicheva, in a slightly different line of work from her usual pop star career. Joining several other Russian celebrities, she manned one of the tills in Moscow's McDonalds in order to raise money for Children's Cancer Charities in Russia.

Also in the line-up was the producer of Russia's 2006 runner-up for Russia, Dima Bilan, representing the young star as he was unable to make it. Nonetheless, Dima, busy in the UK over the last week at the World Music Awards, sent his best wishes to the children. Customers placing large orders were additionally presented with complimentary Dima Bilan CDs and cushions, sporting the face of Russia's hope in Athens, and ensuring that the artist was present in spirit at least.

In the meantime, Dima's latest single Nevozmozhnoe vozmozhno continues to do well, having conquered the Top League, Russia's main pop chart.
