Jan Leeming, host of the 1982 Eurovision Song Contest, has been in the Australian outback for less than two weeks – and already she is proving hugely popular with the British Audience. Jan has now been selected by the televoting public to complete three bushtucker trials – challenges in which contestents must do often unsavoury tasks to win food for the camp.
Jan has shown herself to have a unique personality, a lot like a typical middle-aged Englishwoman. This personality is proving both testing for the fellow competors and popular with the audience. Jan has been moved to tears and often looks worried. The audience seem to love it and keep voting for her to complete the daily challenges. So far she has:
- Been down a Mine with bugs and rats to retrieve stars for food
- Jumped out of a plane in-flight to win food
- Eaten bugs and local fruit from an Aboriginal tribe
Jan's career and popularity is higher than its ever been, even bigger than in 1982 when she hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in Harrogate, UK. But unfortuately for Jan, people continue to love her complaining and moaning attitude, and especially love to see her cry on TV!
