The list of finalists for the Polish Eurovision Song Contest selection show, Piosenka dla Europy is circulating the internet although the final list will not be confirmed until tomorrow morning by broadcaster, TVP. Amongst the 15 names, that survive from the 79 songs submitted, some names from previous finals are joined by some new acts.
OGAE Poland have advised esctoday.com that this list cannot be confirmed until TVP publish their official list tomorrow, but it is unlikely to change from the list below. It also remains unclear whether the final will feature 10 songs, with five further songs chosen by TVP employees, or as likely, there will be 15 songs participating in the final, as was the case in 2006. The names and songs for the final are:
- Vino – Come in my heart
- The Jet Set – Time to party
- Charizma – Emily
- Kuba& Maciek Moleda – No second chance
- Natasza Urbanska – I like it loud
- Bikini – Don't judge me
- Button Hackers – On my mind
- Ania Szarmach – Open your mind
- Hania Stach – Regroup
- Erlandsson Mikael – Love in the air
The five songs chosen by a jury of TVP employees are:
- Lidia – It must be love
- Zee – All that I can be
- Kabri – Flow like a stream
- Sandra Oldenstam – You really got me going
- Plastic – Wake up with your music
The Jet Set already took part in this year's Polish national final, finishing third with How many people?. This song came last in the OGAE second chance contest with zero points. Ania Szarmach is a newcomer, having just released her first album that also contains Open your mind. Natasza Urbanska is a Theatre Buffo actress from Warsaw. The Polish final appears to become quite international: Not only seem all songs to be performed in English but two of the finalists are actually from Sweden – Mikael Erlandsson and Charizma.
The Polish final will take place in Warsaw on 3rd February. The winner will be chosen by televoting. This year, Poland finished 11th in the Eurovision Song Contest semi final. Ich Troje feat. Real McCoy missed the qualification for the final round by only 6 points with their song Follow my heart. Therefore, Poland will have to enter the semi final once again in Helsinki.
