This morning, escmalta.com exclusively met local singer Tristan B, who had just arrived from a trip in Milan, where he recorded the songs that will be submitted to the Malta song for Europe, the Maltese national final 2007. Although he was not interested in the competition in first place, he changed his mind after a succesful concert in his home country. Furthermore, he won the televote of the Festival Kanzunetta Indipendenza final, which made him feel ready for another competition.

Tristan B also confirmed that he is working on an album to be released in March, no matter if he will be succesful in the contest. His songs have been recorded in Ron's, who won the the Sanremo festival, personal studio in Milan. Record label Universal is behind the album and his Malta song entries.

When he was aked what he thinks about the current rumoursgoing aroundthe Maltese Eurovision Song Contest season that he is tipped as favourite to win the national final, Tristan B told that he doesn't act according to rumours. The first step is to submit the songs, and for them to be chosen within the final 14. Then the song would need to pass on to the final night, and then eventually the winner would be announced.

Malta song for Europe will be held on 3rd February. Before the final, a semi final is going to be held on 1st February with 16 songs competing. The Top 6 songs, chosen by televoting and an 'expert' jury will compete in the final round. In Athens, Malta finished last with only one point in the Eurovision Song Contest final, represented by Fabrizio Faniello with the song I do. Therefore, Malta will have to enter the semi final in Helsinki.
