The hosts of the next Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki confirmed a few more details about ticket sales yesterday. The Finnish broadcaster YLE confirmed that tickets will be on sale in mid-December and details will be available to the public on 27th November. Only about one third of the tickets will be sold abroad with most of the tickets being reserved for the home audience in Finland. Prices will be in the same range as the ticket prices for the last contest in Athens.
The exact date of ticket sales has not been announced. Ticket sales can't begin until the stage arrangements for the venue have been finalized. The name of the ticketing partner who will coordinate sales on-line has also not been announced. However, YLE promises that all information will available on their Eurovision homepage well before ticket sales begins.
Demand even greater
Tickets for the Eurovision Song Contest final 2006 in Athens sold out within an hour, after several false starts and record volumes of Internet traffic to the ticket outlet sites. The rush for Helsinki is expected to be even greater, due to the venue being slightly smaller in capacity to the OAKA hall of the 2006 contest.
