Eurodance is a yearly competition created in 2001 with the aim of promoting European and Mediterranean dance productions in local languages, or with strong links to national culture. It is run by one of our media partners, eurodanceweb.tk and the project has involved some of the most popular dance artists in Europe. The competition has more than a few links to the Eurovision Song Contest! You can go through the whole list of participants below, listen to the entries and vote for your favourite online!
In 2004, Helena Paparizou fronted the Greek entry in the competition, going on to win the Eurovision Song Contest the year later. Two of the 2006 participants from Athens can be found in the Eurodance list! Belarus participant, Polina Smolova, enters Eurodance for her home country with the song Biser and Fabrizio Faniello competes with Love on the radio.
This year, several 2006 national finalists can also be found int he list, including Luna from Serbia, Emina Jahovic from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia's Jacques Houdek, Gosia Andrzejewicz (Belarus selection final, 2006), whoenters for homeland, Poland and the Romanian boyband Akcent. Israeli entrant Ofer Nissim also produced Dana International's first album after her Eurovision Song Contest triumph in 1998.
Every year a group of disc-jockies, producers and journalists selects the best dance songs from European and Mediterranean Countries. The winner is then selectedby votes from journalists, disk jockies and music producers from all over the world.
This year, for the very first time, users have the chance to cast their votes directly on the Intenet.After listening to the entries below, click here to cast your vote. The final chart will be a result of the points given by National juries made up of experts: disc jockeys, journalists and musical producers.
