According to an email from a Mihai Traistariu's publicist, the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest representative from Romania is furious with his Scandinavian record company and is considering legal action after a song with his vocals was entered into the Melodifestivalen 2007 selection process without his knowledge or permission. 'OFFICIAL STATEMENT':
"Even if some broadcasters asked me to join this year's Eurovision Song Contest – I decided not to join the festival this year. Four countries asked me to try their national selections and I told them that I will think about it. Last week I decided that this year I would like to concentrate on my new international career, and to promote the songTorneroeverywhere in Europe. So, I will stay on my armchair and watch Eurovision from my Tv.

It will be a pleasure, I guess, to see the festival on TV after 6 years of trying so hard in Romania and representing succesfully my country in 2006. I'm very happy about what happened to me and my career after Eurovision, My dreams came true.

I signed contracts with 11 Record Companies from Europe, the song Tornero is growing in the charts in many countries. So, from now on my albums and my next singles and videoclips will be promoted at least in 11 countries.

To destroy the rumours, I didn't put any song on the selection of Sweden! Two months ago, my Record Company from Scandinavia – Warner Brothers sent me 2 songs (demo versions) – one of them composed by Kent Olsson and the other – I don't remember. They asked me to record only a demo version, just to check if the songs are good for my voice.

I recorded in 6 minutes both songs. I sent them (through mail) the demo versions but the next day I told to my Record Company that the songs are low for my voice so I decided not to record them. So, my decision was: NO!

For two months, nothing happened. But now I heard that without tell me, they put the songs in the contest(I don't know if they put both songs or only one song). That's why I 'm very, very upset about it. I read on the internet that Warner Brothers joined the festival with 164 songs.

So their only purpose was to have at least one song from 164 in the competition. It's not fair! They should ask me or my Company. Tomorrow I will find out if my Record Company from Romania (ROTON) knew about this, and if they did, then I'll be very upset about them too.

They knew from the beginning that I don't like the songs, so I told them: The songs are not good for my voice. They aren't so bad songs, but no good for me! So I refused it! It's unbelieveble what's happening, that's why I 'm thinking to summon before the judge the person (s) who did this.

For my fans : I will enter Eurovision one of the next years, but surely for Romania"
