Gina G's new single, Tonight's the night could only manage to chart at 57 in the UK this week. Although record sales were higher than anyone had expected, download sales were weaker than hoped and results in Gina G missing out on the top 40 for now. As covered exclusively by esctoday.com, Gina performed to 3,000 fans at London's G-A-Y.com nightclub on Saturday night. Despite missing out narrowly on the top 40, Gina says that "regardless of the dissappointing chart entry this week for Tonight's The Night there WILL be a follow up single early next year…it's a real shame because the CD sales were very high. Everyone obviously wanted an actual CD which is nice. Anyway, that was yesterday, today is a new day and we are already focussing on the new track which we will first release to the clubs in January/February 2007".
Gina has promised to be back again in the new year, and will be working on the new album and shooting the video for the follow-up single back at her home in Los Angeles. In a message to her fans, she says:
"We have much higher expectations for the follow up. Tonight's The Night was a great launching pad, a stepping stone to set us up for this new track. We made a great video, made our mark, and that' s the important thing!.
Finally, a big THANK YOU to everyone who has bought Tonight's The Night and thank you for your continued support."
