Today, Jan Werner Danielsen's public funeral took place. The public ceremony for the former Eurovision Song Contest participant was held at the Uranienborg Church, Oslo before a further one for close friends and family took place in Sand Church.

In the Norwegian media, the sudden death of Jan Werner Danielsen at just 30 years of age has received lots of attention. This morning in Oslo, Elisabeth Andressen, his duet-partner at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994, sangwith him for the very last last time. She stood up in the church and sang You raised me up while Jan Werner's voice came out from the speakers. Elisabeth said after the funeral: "I was only thinking of Werner. Nothing will ever be asemotionally intense to me,as what Iexperienced today. Werner is leaving a big empty hole behind him, now he passed away, and I'm going to miss him really much. But I do believe it was a good thing, that everyone got the chance to hear him".
