For the 14th time, the German American Country Music Federation presented their German
country music award yesterday. It's the first time the gala was screened live through German broadcaster MDR.
Texas Lightning, who represented Germany in 2006, received four awards: Best group, best newcomer, best album (Meanwhile, back at the ranch) and best song (No no never). Furthermore, the Olsen Brothers, who won the contest for Denmark in 2000, and the band Truck Stop were present. Truck Stop came second in the German national final back in 1979 with the song Take it easy, altes Haus which became a hit and is still very famous. Yesterday, they were awarded for being the best entertainers.
