Kate Ryan hopes to raise a fortune for a Belgian cancer charity by auctioning off the glamourous orange dress she wore at the Eurovision Song Contest semifinal 2006.

The Art of Vanity dress, worth a reported 7,500 Euros, was created from 13 metres of orange silk and is studded with thousands of Swarovski crystals. It is hoped to raise a lot of money for Kom Op Tegen Kanker, the cancer charity Kate and designers Art of Vanity support due to the loss of Kate's own mother to the illness.

Former Belgian selection participant Tanja Dexters (Eurosong 2002) will host the culmination of the auction at Ghent Opera House on 7th October. In the meantime, anyone can join in the open auction on eBay by clicking this link !
