Romanian National Broadcaster, TVR has just revealed the official theme and logo for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2006. The logo gets a paper toy – a windmill while TVR invities every one to let the music play!
This year, logo gets a paper toy; a windmill! It's a very traditional toy for Romanian kids, you can buy it at parks, fairs, carnivals and now the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song contest is taking place in Romania, it also becomes an important symbol within the competition!
The story behind the logo started with the basic specifications, requiring that it carries the traditional singing girl, but also brings some Romanian particularities. In order to attract fresh ideas and generate outside input, Romanian host broadcaster TVR has launched a public contest, inviting everyone to propose a logo for the 2006 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. In short time, several works and proposals were received from Romania and abroad, and a special commission was set up to analyze them. After a thorough examination, none of the proposed entries was selected and the task for creating a new logo was given to the Broadcast Design Department from TVR.
The team started to focus on this project and, considering all the elements and the event concept, the final logo was designed by Razvan Zahu, designer, based on the idea of Beatrice Popescu, department leader, and Mariana Soitu, TVR show producer
Finally, the new logo was approved by EBU at the Steering Group meeting in Bucharest at the end of August.
2006 theme
The windmill fits the general concept of the event that will be organized under a generous idea of dedicating the Junior Eurovision Song Contest to all kids. Stage elements, on-screen design, social activities and the show itself will all be included in a unitary "package", all based on the 2006 Junior Eurovision Song Contest theme: LET THE MUSIC PLAY!
Junior Eurovision Song Contest belongs to all children, so that Romanian host broadcaster TVR is inviting all kids to celebrate their event and feel at large, by playing, singing, making friends. And because JESC is mainly dedicated to music, the play "in fashion" this year will be, mainly, playing with music, drawings and color!
For Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2006, TVR invites you all to let the childhood rule and LET THE MUSIC PLAY!
