Maltese performer Ira Losco said in the pressconference that participating here is a resposibility because ESC is like a stepping stone to the European music market. “But whatever the outcome is, Maltese people will still love me,” she added.
Ira is very satisfied with her Estonian backing vocalists. She said that she is happy that they are of such a high standard and they go together perfectly. “There's a certain chemistry between us“, she added.
Malta has used the host country's singers as backing vocalists for many years. “It's a tradition that we decided to keep,” said Charlo Bonnici, Head of Delegation. He said that it's a combination of two things – low budgets and easy points from that country.
Ira overwhelmed the audience with her smile, answers and a song in Maltese and her ESC-song refraine. She said that she was a bit afraid at the beginning, but afterwards became very confident. The song is according to Ira very original and has all the right ingredience to become popular.
Number seven has a special meaning for all the delegation, but still has nothing to do with the seven wonders of the world.
