2011 finalist Eric Saade has been announced as the host who will interview the nervous contestants in the Green Room at the Eurovision Song Contest final in Malmö on 18 May.
Having led the vote for much of the final in Dusseldorf with his song Popular, he ended up finishing in an impressive third place, so knows better than most how tense the vote can be. Show producer Christer Björkman believes he is the ideal choice, saying Eric is absolutely perfect for this job. As he was in the lead two years ago, he knows well how nerve wracking it is for contestants who are sitting in the Green Room.
Since his appearance at Eurovision 2011, Eric has gone on to have a successful pop career in Sweden, having toured multiple times, released numerous singles and been nominated for six Scandipop awards in 2012. He is releasing his new EP Coming home on May 22, and will follow that up with a tour in the summer – dates can be found here
