Irish Eurovision Song Contest winner Dana Scallon could be the voice of a new Catholic radio station, according to speculation amongst the Irish press.

Dana, who won the 1970 contest in Amsterdam with All kinds of everything, is the prime candidate for the new AM station which will target over-15s in Ireland with religious current affairs and topical programming. She already has experience of the US Christian radio network after working with the group EWTN in the 1980s, hosting her own radio and TV programmes, and at the time was in demand as a Catholic Christian singer.

The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland is currently searching for likely candidates via a series of advertisements in the press, and the selection process is expected to take six months, with the closing date for submissions the 25th October this year.
