Dima Bilan's hotly anticipated album launch event The Castle Theatre of Dima Bilan has been deemed a huge success as interest in the album continues amongst old and new Dima fans alike.

Friends of Dima shared the auditorium of the Mayakovsky Theatre along with the collected members of the Russian and international press last Friday, as the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 runner-up performed songs from his new album Время – река (Time is a River). Accompanied by his band, he led the themed show against an elaborate, dramatic backdrop, joined at times by the ballerinas who were present during his Athens performance of Never let you go.

The very same weekend, Dima appeared live on Red Square, Moscow, sharing a set with Shakira, the Black Eyed Peas and home-grown act and fellow one-time Russian Eurovision contestants t.A.T.u.. It is an occurence that the young artist is beginning to make a habit, as his popularity continues to grow at home and abroad.

After a phenomenal few months, Dima and his group have now begun a period of well-earned holiday, after which the rounds of tours, promotional appearances and launch events will be attacked again with renewed vigour.
