MaltaSong Board announces that the Maltese Junior Song For Europe Festival 2006 is to be held on Saturday 16th September, 2006 at Sir Temi Zammit Hall, Tal-Qroqq, Msida. The winning song of the Junior Song For Europe Festival will participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Romania on Saturday 2nd December, 2006.

Songs for Maltese Junior Song for Europe 2006, in English and/or Maltese, can be submitted until 17th August. Songs shall be between 02:30min and 02:45min in length.

The selection of the songs will take place in a number of phases, depending on the amount of songs submitted. Fourteencompositions shall make it to the final. In the final, all fourteensongs will be judged again by a professional jury appointed by the Board and by televoting. The finalists will not be allowed to make publicity or promotional material.

In the eliminatory phases a singer may interpret alone or with others only twosongs. At no stage may the song or singer/s be changed. In the finals, every singer shall interpret alone or with others, only onesong. This shall be the one that obtained the highest number of points from among the songs interpreted by the same singer. The other song will be automatically withdrawn from the competition.

Malta Junior Song for Europe 2006 takes place on 16th September. The winner will succeed Thea & Friends, who finished16th for Malta at last year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest withMake it right.
