German broadcaster NDR asked for an investigation of possible clandistine advertising during this year's Eurovision Song Contest. What's the case? NDR came to the conclusion this is a possible case of clandistine advertising in favour of Apple, which is forbidden in most countries. NDR head of programmes Volker Herres asked the European Broadcasting Union for an explaination, the EBU asked Greek broadcaster ERT for more information.

The graphics have been used during the Greek national selection as well.

Although the Apple commercials and the quick dancers' shots in the postcards of this year's Eurovision Song Contest are quite similar, the idea of a silhouette dancing against a coloured background has not been invented by Apple. Unlike during the Apple commercials, the dancers do not wear white iPod devices, so chances are small that this is indeed a case of 'product placement'…
