“We are happy about last night's event and we consider it as successful”, Svante Stockselius, executive supervisor of the contest at the European Broadcasting Union, said to esctoday.com. “We even had a televoting record!” Exact details could not be given yet.
The results of last night's event were audited by PriceWaterhouseCoopers and are confirmed to be 100% correct.
Stockselius also said that there were problems with the broadcast in Albania, where the show started as much as 47 minutes late. Although not officially confirmed, it can be assumed that the backup jury has been used here. In the second country where the backup jury results were used, the voting limit was not met.
"Although we were six minutes late, and therefore had to scratch one hosts appearance, we are very happy with the viewing rates in for example in Sweden, Finland and the United Kingdom", Stockselius added.
