ERT, host broadcaster of the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, invited a number of independent Eurovision Song Contest websites to Athens these days to be informed about the organisation of the upcoming contest. It is the first time a host broadcaster organises a meeting to inform fan websites about their progress, meanwhile giving them an opportunity to give feedback about the organisation of the contest.

Leading sites present
Leading Eurovision Song Contest websites Eurosong.be, EurovisionSpain and the EuroJoint websites Oikotimes.com and EurovIL were invited to Athens. Esctoday.com already attended a similar meeting with ERT, back in January, and is now being represented in Athens by the EuroJoint web alliance partners. DotEurovision.com was not able to send a representative.

Three weeks to go
Yesterday, ERT's press secretary Fanis Papathanassiou and his personal assistant Christina Papas informed the invited editors about the progress they are making on the upcoming contest. In three weeks, press, fans and contestants will travel to Athens for the 51st Eurovision Song Contest.

Dinner with…
Today, a visit to the venue was scheduled, as well as with ERT's official Eurovision Song Contest site and the President of the public broadcaster. For tonight, a dinner with Greek representative and super star Anna Vissi is scheduled.

With this meeting, the fans' countdown towards the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest started!
