This morning lithuanian broadcaster LRT anounced that two of nine participicants of third semifinal, decided to pull out. Only seven songs remain. LRT is now in a potentially sticky situation with the Final, which will be held in Vilnius Siemens Arena.
This morning Mantas informed LRT that he won't sing his entry called Escape Me Tonight. No reasons has been given for this move. Subsequently Amberlife with his song Day or Night anounced his withdrawal. His main reason was that the song didn't reach Latvian final earlier this month; as well, he mentioned that not playing music live is against his principles.
LRT has had some problems with organising the Final in Vilnius' Siemens Arena, according to the news portal lrytas.lt. Earlier the municipality of Vilnius had committed to support Lithuanian National Final, but today changed their mind: LRT just lost their main sponsor. “Final can't be canceled, because the tickets are on sale already, but we are really in a sticky situation.” – coordinator Jonas Vilimas said. According to lrytas.lt, municipality of Vilnius will make their final decision on Monday.
