As earlier reported by the website Vertele, the Spanish Broadcaster TVE selected the girl band Las Ketchup to represent Spain at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest… Today more information, directly from the Spainish Head of Delegation has reached us.
The committee of TVE still has not taken any decision who will represent Spain at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest. So the previous rumours are false.
TVE will have an internal selection this year to choose their entry. Las Ketchup are one of the potential names in the selection, so it's still possible to see them performing in Athens.
Last year, Son de sol placed 21st in Kyiv at the 50th Eurovision Song Contest with their song Brujería. As Spain is one of the 'Big-4' countries, it will enter the final of the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest directly.
