Israel's leading newspaper Yediot Ahronot reports today that Maya Buskila, the biggest name in this year's Kdam-Eurovision, Israel's national final, withdraws from the contest.
With less than a month to go before the Kdam-Eurovision is due to be held in Jerusalem, Israeli broadcaster IBA is facing another setback, when Maya Buskila, which was the biggest name (and the only true successful artist) in the contest's shortlist, withdraws from the contest.
Buskila was tipped to storm the Israeli final and win it, but after she and her teamed failed to find a suitable song which will ensure such a victory, she decided to step down. It is said in Yediot Ahronot that Buskila prefered to be directly selected by IBA to represent the country in the Eurovision Song Contest's final in Athens.
IBA is supposed to present the Kdam's participants in a press conference this Sunday, but now without Maya Buskila that shortlist seems to be much more grayish. The Kdam-Eurovision is supposed to be held on March 15th.
