Yesterday RTVA, the national broadcaster of Andorra, gave a press conference in which they revealed several things about their 2006 Eurovision Song Contest entry.

The song which will represent the tiny country has already been selected internally. 48 artists applied to RTVA to represent Andorra in the Eurovision Song Contest and 37 songs were submitted. After several selections, 4 artists and 3 songs made it to the final selection which took place earlier this month. The title of the song and the name of the singer will be revealed in a special gala show on 8th March. Famous Catalan singers along with many surprise acts will perform in that special programme, which will presented by Meri Picart and Josep Lluis Trabal.

The composer of the song for Andorra is the same guy who composed last year's Andorran entry, Rafael Artesero Herrero. He revealed that the artist will again be a woman and that the song will again be sung in Catalan. The song will be released on single by the record company Musica Global.

RTVA also revealed that they will broadcast 35 shows dedicated to the history of the Eurovision Song Contest under the title I tú què recordes? (what do you remember?), prior to this year's Eurovision final on 20th May. The jury-spokesperson for RTVA will be Xavi Palma.
